Wall Street Freaks

Monday, September 29th, 2008 | Uncategorized | No Comments

Where was the panic, press conferences when crude oil was $147 and the working class was paying over for $4 gas?  It didn’t seem like a big deal to the billionaires on Wall Street then, but on a day like today when their money gets touched, they freak.

I feel they’ll eventually get their money, and honestly I want them to, but it’s interesting to see how everyone reacts.  Today’s bailout rejection was like the little boy who cried wolf.  The government bails everyone out all the time, pissing off the working class, then when there’s a bailout that’s extremely important, they say no.

I think everything will be OK, but it’s interesting and historic.

True Colors

Today Congress did not pass the $700 billion bailout plan. Currently, the Dow Jones is down 500 points. The media is saying this is the worst financial situation since The Great Depression. Although this is extremely scary and serious, I can’t help but chuckle at how Wall Street is reacting. They did this, got rich, and when the government didn’t immediately bail them out, they cried and are continuing to cry. Everything is fine when they control all the money and the country and do whatever they want, but now they look like they’d be the first to eat each other.

COMPLETE FAILURE

Why won’t someone in the media come out and say that this administration is the worst in U.S. history? Every news station has 700 extremely intelligent analysts break things down using a lot of jargon, but you don’t need an MBA to see what’s going on, yet no one says it.

Currently, the Dow Jones is down some 230 points and crude oil has set a new one day record of up over $21 and still rising. America’s financial system is fucked up.

President Mental Mongoloid allowed these “Good Ole Boys” to run wild on Wall Street and now we’re feeling the repercussions. These people aren’t smart, good people.

It’s a slap in the face to all the working class people who had nothing to do with this. It would lessen the blow if someone came out and said George Bush has failed, but now we have to rebuild.

It’s A Hobby

I don’t hide the fact that I love to pick my nose. I always have, and honestly, I don’t see what the big deal is. Whenever I get out of a setting where I couldn’t pick my nose, I just go to town. I thoroughly clean that thing out. And you know what? I feel great afterwards. I can breathe better and it’s so refreshing to pull out one of those big booger blockers that’s been interfering with my nasal passage, not to mention how rewarding it is to finally “seize” one of those little guys that’s been “somewhat difficult.”

So what’s the big deal? Why does society deem this activity unacceptable if it’s fun, healthy, and rewarding?

My mom shed some light on this for me. She’d always yell, “quit picking your nose,” and I was always like, “why?” She retorted with, “cause your fingers may be dirty and you’re shoving them in your nose.” That’s when it hit me.

Those motherly words made so much sense. She was right, it probably is bad to shove your dirty fingers into one of your orifices.

So does society say it’s gross to pick your nose because you’re touching your slimy boogers or because your boogers touch your germed up fingers?

Regardless, now when I pick my nose, I wash my hands first.

Blood on Wall Street

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 449 points today and 500 points on Monday. Lehman Brothers, a financial services firm over 150 years old, filled for bankruptcy on Monday. Combine that with an $85 billion federal bailout of AIG and we have a financial mess.
Personally, my feelings are hurt. I’ve been following the market for sometime now, and until today, I viewed the people on Wall Street as extremely intelligent people, but now I see a different side of the environment: dangerous greed and complete disregard for the working class, all for their financial gain.
It really pisses me off that no one comes out and says that this is borderline criminal activity. The origin of this collapse is the sub prime mortgages, and George Bush used to run around and say, “more people own homes now than ever.” Why doesn’t the media run clips of him saying that? I feel that George Bush influenced Congress to influence Wall Street to get people into homes they couldn’t afford via sub prime mortgages.
It’s fucking sickening. Not to be a pessimist, but the mainstream media is really hiding how serious of an issue this really is. This has been compared to the Black Monday of 1987 and The Great Depression. The people who have been responsible with their money and have nothing to do with this insanity are going to be the ones affected by it through higher taxes and a turbulent economy. I’d like to see a criminal investigation launched against those responsible.

Gas Gouging

If you see any gas gouging, please visit the site http://gaswatch.energy.gov.  The government claims they will take “criminal action” against any retail gas stations hiking up prices due to Ike.
