Old People Ignorance
At a McCain rally on Friday, an elderly woman announced (on the mic) that Obama was an Arab. John immediately took the mic from her and assured her that Barack was not Arabic, but rather “a family man citizen”.
McCain, whose campaign has been slinging plenty of mud as of late, displayed a slice of decency by correcting the misinformed woman.
Whether you agree with Barack’s policies or not, his campaign has been sound, with few attack ads and no giant blunders. However, Barack does provide enthusiasm about the upcoming changes America needs, which may concern old people.
It’s obvious America needs to alter some things to keep it going. With the massive older population gearing up for retirement, younger generations are going to have to step up in the workforce and be the decision makers. Plus, younger people were raised in a more tolerant generation, creating a generational gap.
Old people need to trust and accept the younger generations, allow us to make balanced choices, and realize we’re not a bunch of digital dope heads.
